Hemodialysis is a medical breakthrough that began decades ago and continues day-by-day to keep people alive. Patients with End Stage Renal Disease have their blood cleansed of deadly toxins every other day during a 3 to 4 hour treatment with the help of dedicated medical staff. This site is open to all people in the dialysis community. Everybody has a tale to tell. What's your story?

We all learn from someone else and each other.
I am not a know it all. I do know some things, but there are a lot of other things I don't know - and need someone else to help me. I am a Certified Patient Care Technician - over 14 years experience and the years were not consecutive. I got my first job in Rockford, Illinois at Rock ford Memorial Hospital in 1976. The dialysis machine was a Travenol that supported a coil dialyser which was placed in the top mounted stainless-steel basin. We also used a COBE machine, I think, which used a plate dialyser. I've always found dialysis fascinating. I've worked for Southern DialysisCenters and Biomedical Applications Both in Anniston AL, Today, in 2010, I'm working for DaVita.
